Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby Parish Council

GYBC are working with Norfolk Public Health to trial symptom-free covid testing in the Great Yarmouth Borough and are undertaking testing for Ormesby, Scratby and California residents on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th February at All Saints Parish Hall.  Posters will be going up in the area and flyers delivered.

 

The official invitation is below – there is no need to book.

 

If you need to leave your home for work, you don’t have any Covid symptoms and live Scratby, California or Ormesby St Margaret, you are invited to take part in our symptom-free testing initiative. Simply come along for rapid testing at All Saints Parish Hall, Beach Rd, Scratby, Great Yarmouth NR29 3AJ any time between 8am and 4pm on any of the following dates:

 

Thursday 18th February

Friday 19th February

 

Many infected people have no symptoms, so could be spreading the virus without knowing it. Great Yarmouth Borough Council, in partnership with Norfolk Public Health, are testing people without symptoms living in a number of areas with higher infection rates, to help find some of those infected people so they can self-isolate, protect the NHS and save lives.

 

Please remember to wear your face-covering inside the testing centre. Your results will be available in 30 minutes. If you have a smart phone, download the NHS COVID-19 app from https://covid19.nhs.uk and bring your phone along, to allow you to get results on your phone later.

 

Testing slots are limited. Please come if you can. Please don’t come if you have a fever, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change in smell or taste. Instead, self-isolate with your household and book a test at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or call 119.

UPDATE 1st February 2021 – the postcards have now been delivered to every household and over 130 surveys have now been completed.

Over 1,800 postcards have been delivered to households in our villages. So there are still quite a few residents that haven’t completed the survey.

There was an interesting article in one of the national newspapers over the weekend about the importance of design codes and their use in planning. As part of our grant funding, we have engaged AECOM to look at the design codes as part of our neighbourhood plan.

Please do complete the survey, it’s very easy and takes no more than 10 minutes and is an important document for the future of our villages.
