  • TREE UPDATE ORMESBY GREEN

    Just a quick update the hornbeam tree arrived Friday and was successfully planted on the green in Ormesby.
    A big thank you to the people involved on the day in making this happen Barcham trees who delivered, Robert Hirst for help and assistance in unloading the tree, Farmland Forestry for digging the hole and planting and Cllr David Troy for overseeing the proceedings.

  • BOLLARDS WAR MEMORIAL ORMESBY

    WAR MEMORIAL BOLLARD DAMAGE (UPDATE)
    Just a quick update to say the repair work is still underway the three forms have been cast and are now ready for pinning and will then be aged to match the existing bollards before being erected. Oddly the delay is in obtaining new chains.
    We will update you further as soon as the bollards have been reinstalled.

    Just to confirm the refurbishment and remedial works to the bus stop have now been completed by the parish council.

  • TREE PLANTING ORMESBY GREEN

    TREE PLANTING
    Hopefully a new hornbeam tree will be delivered towards the end of this week to replace the oak that was lost on the green at Ormesby. The major costs of this planting was made possible by a donation made by former Borough Councillor Steve Scott-Greenard from what was then his ward budget. Thank you Mr Scott-Greenard for making this possible.

    I am pleased to say that I have today received feed back from Great Yarmouth planning department who have been very helpful and have confirmed the following:

     

    1. The current planning application in its current format has been withdrawn from development control for next Wednesday.
    2. The withdrawal has taken place following concerns that have been raised following formal responses from the Conservation; Strategic Planning departments and the Parish Councils as consultee.
    3. We understand that the applicant is now checking to ensure the application complies with Policy E5 of The Local Plan Part 2
