Norfolk Beach Clean. 9 July 2023.

πŸŒŠπŸ’™ Beach Clean – Scratby πŸ’™πŸŒŠ
I hosted a beach clean at Scratby this morning and was joined by 40 volunteers!!! πŸ‘
4 were returning volunteers and 36 were newbies.
What an amazing result though!! πŸ‘
In total the team of volunteers removed 102.5kg of rubbish from the environment, filling 10 rubbish bags! πŸ‘
Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby Parish Council and other volunteers got involved with cleaning and tidying up the Scratby slope, clearing a build up of sand and overgrown grass and weeds along the pathway.
Scratby residents and locals had been calling out for action to be taken on cleaning the beach, obviously we weren’t able to tackle the larger, heavier pieces of debris or the dead seal, but what we could clear, we did! πŸ‘
The beach was in much need of attention, as the amount of rubbish removed today was record breaking for a beach clean I’ve hosted over the past 97 beach cleans!! 😳
The last record breaking litter total was 90.5kg at Caister on New Years Day this year, where we had help from 35 volunteers πŸ’™πŸŒŠ
Yesterday evening I installed the 4th Beach Toy Borrow Box at the top of Scratby Slopes…
Already it’s had toy donations; encouraging people to reuse beach toys instead of throwing them away or discarding them on the beach ⛱️
This morning started off hot and sunny and ended very wet and soggy πŸ˜„
I appreciate everyone’s help with the rubbish bags and packing away equipment πŸ™ #ThankYou
Thank you again to everyone for their help today πŸ™πŸ’™πŸŒŠ
